cue the awkward face and another unfortunate outfit choice.
the problem here is i totally thought i looked super cute for the 4th of july...especially with my red scarf.
not so fast panama red. that red scarf is going to make you sweat, and don't get me started on what a maxi skirt does for your 5'5", pregnant frame. but, what's done is done.
24 WEEK STATS | farm baby #2
WEIGHT GAIN | i'm sitting tight at six pounds, which is a zero gain from last week. i like to save all my weight gain for those last two months when i don't plan on moving a whole lot. i'll be bossy and say stuff like, "make me a milkshake!" and "hand me the remote." i'm super excited for that phase.
WORKOUTS | it has been nothing short of 100 degrees here for a week straight. my treadmill and iPad are my best friends. i just hop on that puppy, turn on some breaking bad, and just like that...an hour has flown by.
now that i'm not training for a race i have lost a lot of motivation to do solid running. so i usually will run a mile, walk for five minutes, run another mile, walk again...etc. throw in some planks, lunges, and squats...call it a day.
CLOTHING | thank you so much for your cute suggestions for where to find some cute (inexpensive) maternity clothes! so far gap is my very very best friend. you just can't beat those tank tops.
GENDER | don't shoot me, but i STILL haven't taken any reveal pictures. but i will...this week. i can't wait to share! we totally know and it's so exciting because we didn't find out with kaye. as stated before, vote in the top left corner of the blog! also, be on the lookout for another annoying blog announcement in the coming week(s)!
CRIES THIS WEEK | i nearly cried last week in red robin because i felt like my farmer was being suuuuper critical of my driving. but guess who's never had a ticket...this gal. he also told the waitress that the milkshake he ordered was mine, and that made me feel fat and blah blah blah. i told him to zip it or i was going to lose it right then and there.
that friends is a prime example of some pregnancy hormones with a side of crazy.
PURCHASES | here is where you fine folk come in. farmer says that if i can sell some more ad spaces i can buy a glider. this is a good thing, right? so...if you want to help a gal out, go ahead and check out my advertising options! i have a new space available called the 4x get your gal face on. should you be interested, use the code: GALFACETRIAL for 30% off this new space! not your cup of tea...check out the other spots!
okay...now onto the goodies. we had an epically awesome 4th of july.
2014 | 4TH OF JULY RECAP
it all started when i was able to convince my farmer that kaye needed a photoshoot with him in our corn fields. i was bit by mosquitos nothing short of 45 times but it was totally worth it.
then we hurried home and got the boat ready for some fun. it was HOT outside and knew being on the water would be a great option.
we met up with amy and her family for brunch and swimming. my turtle even got to try her hand at surfing. i'm telling you guys...she's athletic.
after boating and a mini-meltdown by the turtle (not me, thank god), we parted ways so the kids could nap, but met back up for a bbq and more swimming...and more pictures.
when it was finally dark...at 10:15 pm (seriously...it stays light here until after 10 pm)...we loaded some seriously tired children (and parents) into the cars and drove to a little, neighboring town for a larger display of fireworks. to say kaye was wide-eyed would be an understatement.
she loved her first display.
another holiday in the books. phew.
That last image of her watching the fireworks (and farmer watching her) is so priceless...
ReplyDeleteI just want to say that you ARE beautiful and you DO look good in the clothes you wear. I don't know if you really are insecure or if you just like to joke around about how bad your taste in clothes it, but you look gorgeous in that first photo. Honestly and truly. So don't always condemn your taste in clothes; I like the way you look.
ReplyDeleteA Girl Who Reads Your Blog.
I like the outfit, I think the maxi looks cute! Eh, we're always our worst critic - I know I am!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the sparkler pictures! Were you trying to write Farm in the first one?? And I think that maxi dress looks great on you! Looks like you guys had a great 4th of July :)
ReplyDeleteI am months behind on blog commenting but OMG! Totally missed that you were preggo but you look fabulous and congrats!!!!!
ReplyDeletespeaking of pregnancy hormones with a side of crazy, I recently told my fiancé if he didn't stop (doing what... I don't remember) I wouldn't marry him. my mom was with us and she ASSURED him that wasn't true. no mom, pretty sure I was serious. ;)
ReplyDeletegreat pics! and I'm 5'3" and totally rocking a maxi dress today at 18 weeks...I think you look precious!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome, I am glad you had such a great 4th!

Awww mama!! I'm so sorry I've been away for so long but I'm baaaack! Loving these babe updates...cannot wait to see you continue to grow another K in your tummy. You look amazing and I'm thinking you had a better 4th than we did...well minus all of the coronas I enjoyed =)
ReplyDeleteThat last picture is so sweet, with her little eyes wide open and pacifier in mouth. Love. Glad you guys had a good 4th!
ReplyDeleteOh hey, maybe I should stop being a creeper and comment on something. I basically think maxis look cute on everyone but me...and this is another instance where I feel that way. You look adorable. When I was preggo, a maxi dress I insisted on wearing looks like a giant mumu. Horrifying.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what you are talking about - you look great in the photos. It looks like you had a lot of fun on the 4th of July and I like your idea for the final few months of pregnancy.

oh man her expression is priceless!!! love it!
ReplyDeleteY'all are just so freakin' cute! I love the photos! I hope we look like y'all with a little one and one on the way someday :)
ReplyDeleteEven after hundreds of people present, there was plenty of space to move around. Also, the staff was extremely courteous and attentive and the food was great as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these amazing images
