i had been going back and forth and back and forth and just wasn't sure if it was going to be something i'd like wearing. i mean...to have any sort of idea of just how little you move, you have to wear it all the time. for example -
the basic goal is to get 10,000 steps a day which equates out to about 4.5 - 5ish miles a day. well, last night at around 9:30 pm as i was watching american ninja warrior with my farmer (because i'm absolutely convinced that if my farmer got on the american ninja warrior course he would absolutely kill it. there really is nothing he can't do.) i realized i only had 7,800 steps! for day two of having the fitbit...i knew i had to get my boo-tay moving. so i did.
see...it's a little motivator. i love it!
you can also find friends to do little challenges with - this is where you guys come in.
DO YOU HAVE A FITBIT?
if so, shoot me an e-mail with your fitbit e-mail address and i'll add you as a friend. super fun, right!? right. let's do this! because right now i only have two fitbit friends.
also...i'll be posting all about my six week #bikiniseries results tomorrow! i have to admit, i'm pretty disappointed in myself. there are just too many damn opportunities to celebrate or have frozen yogurt or enjoy a beer. so that's that. tomorrow, i'll be back.
happy tuesday! hope your long weekend was wonderful!
I just got a FitBit for Mother's Day and I too need more FitBit friends! I'll send you my email!

I LOVE my Fitbit. I'm constantly walking in circles trying to get to my 10k!
ReplyDeleteYay! I LOVE my fitbit. I know this comment will probably go to your email, so just paste this into your browser to find me: https://www.fitbit.com/user/22NL2J
ReplyDeleteYay for more fitbit friends! :)
YAY!! I've got one too x

ReplyDeleteAh! Which one do you have? I have a Polar I bought in 2013, and while I like it, the chest strap part is frustrating sometimes. I have been toying with the FitBit idea. I want the Charge HR, I think. Tell me more! :-)
ReplyDeleteGah! I want one so bad. I am trying to decide between the HR and the Surge
ReplyDeleteAwww Karli! It breaks my heart hearing you are disappointed in yourself! You are HUMAN! I know it's hard since you are so determined to get to where you want. I get that! Right there with you! BUT ya know what? You have done amazing so far and you can make up for it in the next few weeks! You got this mama! :)

Love that the FitBit has motivated you! It's great for that!
ReplyDeleteI have been contemplating getting one...I had a version of that through work, and they discontinued the service..so I either have to get something else or not get anything. And for the record, my goal was 7,000 steps a day, and sometimes I would only get 5,000 steps...pathetic!
ReplyDeleteLove my fitbit but need to get up and moving more! Let's do this girl!!
ReplyDeleteI sadly only have the UP band, so I can't play with you... however... yes, it SUCKS when you realize you've been a lazy bag of bones. Which is basically me most days. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteAwww, I just got the Garmin band (looks just like a fitbit but with a heart rate monitor too) otherwise we could be fitbesties fo sho. I love mine! I didn't think I cared about the heart rate monitor, but it's so fun to be in a fitness class and see what level I'm actually working at. It's also a motivator, like "whoa, I'm only at a level 3? Homegirl, you need to step it up and get that to a 4 with at least 160 BPM!"
ReplyDeleteFitness is a sickness, really.
I JUST got a fitbit today actually! I've already checked it 1,500 times to see how many steps I'm getting in. I can tell that it's quite the motivator!
ReplyDeleteI just got mine yesterday (a surprise from my husband) and I'd love a friend. So far I'm killing the steps (10 000 by 3pm) because I've got a six week old that does NOT like to stand still! alyssa.trobacher@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI started out last fall with a Fitbit flex, and graduated to the Surge for running. Great and great motivator. I JUST bumped up my steps so I can challenge myself a bit, and keep track of my activity during the summer. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI will have to email you!! Congrats on the new FitBit!
ReplyDeleteI have a FitBit but I didn't know you could connect with other users! I am definitely guilty of walking around the house at night to reach my goal :) I'm going to check out the connect feature today.

I love my FitBit! But sadly it's rare I meet the 10k steps (except on the weekends). A desk job will do that to ya! I have my whole family hooked on FitBit, even our Grandmas! jmed2169@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteAnd girl, you have absolutely nothing to be disappointed about- looks like you've done great with the bikini series!
I have a fitbit but need to find the charger & get my booty back in gear :) krd5170@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI love my fitbit! On the weekends I strive for at least 13K steps a day. I got mine for Mother's Day and it has been a wonderful two weeks!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely has motivated me! Let's be friends on Fitbit!

I have one too, a hand me down from my sister. She switched to a vivo fit instead. But my free fit bit does the job. I forget to wear it half the time though.
